I started in the Green industry over 25 years ago working for a landscape company in Alberta. I apprenticed as a Gardner for four years and went to Olds collage and graduated in 1992 as a ticketed landscape Gardner.
Shortly after graduating I moved to Victoria B.C. and started working in the tree industry. I was so inspired to become an arborist because when I was in college there were Arborists climbing trees and teaching climbing techniques at lunch break. Needless to say….. after the first time I went up in a tree I was hooked.
I loved it!! It was amazing! I knew right there and then, this is what I want to do.
I packed up my truck and dog and headed west. When I got here I was so excited to get started on my new career, (I called all the tree services in the phone book). I got hired, worked in the industry for six years for various tree companies, got trained and certified.
I can’t tell you enough how lucky and blessed I feel to be here doing what I love to do. I love trees! It’s so wonderful to be able touch and climb and feel the energy that these trees have. It’s both exciting and satisfying to work with trees, these living organisms that give us so much.
For me it’s much more then a job it’s a way of life that I love and take pride in.
